Legislative Assembly 2020
The 42nd Annual Legislative Assembly will take place in a virtual format on October 24-25, 2020.
Register now for the 42nd Annual WSPTA Legislative Assembly! Check out the legislative assembly web page to learn more about this year's event.
Take advantage of the remarkably low rate of $25 per attendee by completing your registration by October 8.
Now is a great time to review the amount your PTA has budgeted for advocacy. PTA's mission and purpose is to advocate for families and students, and your budget should reflect that.
Legislative assembly is WSPTA's annual event allowing our members to participate in true grassroots advocacy by building both our short-term and long-term legislative platforms.
We highly encourage sending more than one or two delegates/attendees this year. Since this year’s event is virtual, the cost for registration alone is a fraction of the in-person cost, making it possible for every PTA to send the maximum number of delegates this year. WSPTA bylaws indicate that every PTA in the state can send a minimum of four delegates, with many able to send more based on their total membership number as of June 30, 2020.
Take advantage of all legislative assembly has to offer by participating in multiple learning education and caucus opportunities. Make sure you take back valuable information on topics such as Education Funding Basics and How to Advocate for Students with Disabilities to your members. As many voices as possible in attendance make it possible to authentically engage in deciding our two-year platform priorities.
